TAMPA, Fla. – A Florida circuit court has entered a default judgment of nearly $350,000 against Visionary Sleep LLC in a contract manufacturing dispute brought by independent bedding maker Sleep International LLC.
A Hillsborough County circuit judge signed the final default money judgment ordering Visionary Sleep to pay Sleep International $349,444.68.
Sleep International filed its original complaint in July 2025 naming both Visionary Sleep and Adventure Mattress as defendants. The complaint indicated that Adventure Mattress acquired Visionary Sleep after the supply agreement with Sleep International was signed in 2023.
At the heart of the case was Sleep International’s production of the Drew & Jonathan-branded bedding products in its factory here and delivering them to retailers, primarily Rooms To Go, weekly.
Visionary Sleep was founded by industry veteran Bob Sherman in 2016 when he acquired Restonic licensees operating three factories. Sherman later started Adventure Mattress in 2023.
The judgment came after Visionary Sleep failed to respond to the lawsuit or appear in court. A clerk’s default was entered against the company in September, and as a result of the default, the court allowed the allegations in Sleep International’s complaint admitted.
Visionary Sleep now has 45 days from the date of the judgment to complete a sworn financial disclosure and provide it to Sleep International’s attorneys, unless the judgment is fully satisfied in that period. The court retained jurisdiction to enforce the judgment.
Sleep International declined to comment, and Visionary Sleep/Adventure Mattress has not yet responded to an email request for comment.
