TURLOCK, Calif. — Minerva’s Furniture here is closing after 43 years of business.
The Turlock, Calif.-based retailer, which was established in the mid-1980s by Carmen and Carlos Sandoval Sr., and later added their daughter and son-in-law, Fabiola Sandoval-Sanchez and Jorge Sanchez to ownership, has announced a going-out-of-business sale.
Wahlquist Promotions is handling Minerva’s going-out-of-business operations at its 331 Sixth St. showroom.
“There is a lot of history here, and Minerva’s has been a fixture in the community for more than 40 years,” said Clay Wahlquist, CEO of Wahlquist Promotions. “Jorge and Fabiola have been a pleasure to work with. They make our job easy, and we’ve approached this process as one team from the very beginning.”
Wahlquist said the going-out-of-business sale should last for around 60 days.
Minerva’s Furniture got its start when the Sandovals opened a 2,000-square-foot store on Fourth Street in Turlock. After it gained market share, the retailer moved to West Main Street. That store burned, and Minerva moved to Market Street and eventually settled into its space on Sixth Street.
